How To Get Over A Break Up...Is It Even Possible?

A break up is by no means a pie or cake to handle. You've heard that time is the best healer of wounds, and you'll find this especially true after a break-up and getting over it. It's important to keep in mind that allowing yourself both time .

Sadness, anger, resentment, numbeness - you'll experience these torrents of emotions when a break-up hits you. Don't be alarmed...these feelings are normal and many people have treaded this beaten and thorny path you're about to take.

Accepting them...these emotions is your first step in moving forward.

Feel them, accept that they exist...and act on them but in an appropriate way and environment. You can cry or scream...you may even want to vent it out on your pillow. Don't prevent yourself from doing so in a healthy way. BUT no matter what happens, don't take it out on your ex-partner. Don't go out on full battle gear - on a mission to hurt your ex-partner. This will take you nowhere and much worse, you'll feel the pain stronger while others will be looking down on you...thinking you're petty and immature.

Although you're allowing yourself to feel these emotions, keep close in mind what your treal objective is...that is to ultimately get over the break-up. Don't lose sight of that and don't wallow on your emotions without doing anything to move on and give them up.

It takes time...while feeling those emotions, but be aware of how much time you're taking to feel them. There'll be good days and there will be bad days, just take them one day at a time...don't resent yourself if you're having an extremely emotional day, remember, this is perfectly normal.
